2018 Black Pearl

Proudly presented by 1968 Cellars, our Black Pearl is a blend of half Petite Syrah and half Syrah. This wine is unequivocally the dazzling star among other varietals. The grapes perfectly soak up the entirety of Temecula Valley's distinctive terroir. Rain rarely showers during 7 months long growing season, however, intense heat from the desert chilled by ocean breeze, resulting a huge temperature difference gradually develops the fruits a full maturity and sheer richness of black cherry aroma with a hint of black pepper flavor. Petite Syrah is famous for its dark purple color, richness and full body. The high tannin and acidity greatly complement the color and complexity of Syrah. Vanilla and mocha flavors had been instilled in this blend after 18 months aged in French oak barrels.
